Now, more than ever, realtors need to be a calm, cool and collected voice of reason for their clients. We recommend reaching out to your clients (and prospective ones) and checking in. If you're feeling cooped up at home, chances are they are too!

This is the perfect time to really nurture your community and stand out as a realtor who cares!  The key is to reassure, and show your expertise as an industry expert. Let them know if you have any helpful tips about keeping entertained, or things you are working on to help your community.

Maybe you've seen some interesting resources or links on the internet? Send them to your clients! Let them know you are thinking of them. Use this time to open up different dialogues with them outside your usual channels.

We've put together some sample templates for our clients to send their clients. Feel free to copy and paste, or modify these however you wish. The idea is to be reassuring, and proactive that you are staying on top of market conditions and are there to help!

For prospective clients currently in the buying/selling process:

"I wanted to check in and see how you and your family are doing. I know this can be a disconcerting time, and I wanted to bring you some good news in case you are worrying about your home sale. We've been doing some research, and one good thing to come out of this that due to the lowering of the central bank's interest rate in the US and Canada, mortgage rates have dropped to all-time lows in most regions. Lots of people are going to be taking advantage of these superb new rates and there will be lots of people looking to both buy and sell homes this year, despite the disruption that the virus has caused to our day to day lives!

I wanted to let you know the steps that I'm taking to facilitate this and make sure that I can still walk you through each step of this process. I've set up video conferencing, so you can book a meeting with me via Zoom or Facetime and I am in the processing of transferring over all of my face-to-face services (like open houses!) to an online option over the next few weeks! I know that it's really important to my clients to keep up with their home sale process and I'm taking steps to make sure I can still serve you without the need for leaving the house!

I just wanted to check in and see how you're doing! Being cooped up inside can certainly be challenging! I'm trying to make the most of it, and get some things done that I didn't have the time for before.

I'm also in the process of moving all of my work online right now! You can now book coffee chats with me with my Zoom link, and we can meet from the comfort of our living rooms if you would like to know a bit more about current market conditions. The good news is, people are still buying and selling their homes! Some all time-low mortgage rates are driving the market across the country, so rest assured if this is something you have been thinking about for the future, it shouldn't affect anything!
