Creating a Mailchimp account

Setting up a Mailchimp account is a crucial first step before we can start sending your newsletters. With this guide, we’ll walk you through the process. Let’s get started!

Step 1: Visit the Mailchimp Website
Start by visiting www.mailchimp.com. On the homepage, you’ll find the "Sign Up Free", or similar, button. Click it to begin the sign-up process.
Step 2: Fill Out the Sign-Up Form
Next, fill in the required details:
Email Address: Use the email you want associated with your Mailchimp account. Make sure to use the email you want your clients to receive the newsletters from!
Username: This can be your name or your business name.
Password: Create a strong password using a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters for security.
Once completed, click Sign Up.
Step 3: Activate Your Account
Mailchimp will send an activation email to the address you provided. Check your inbox and click the activation link in the email to verify your account.
Tip: If you don’t see the email, check your spam or junk folder.
Step 4: Complete the Account Setup
After verifying your email, Mailchimp will guide you through a few more steps:
Personal and Business Details: Enter your name and your business name, if applicable.
Physical Address: Input your brokerage or business address to comply with email marketing regulations.
Usage Intent & Others: Feel free to skip this portion, or select the options that best match your goals, like sending newsletters or promoting services.
Step 5: Choose Your Plan
Mailchimp offers several plans, including a free option. Review the features of each plan and choose the one that suits your needs. If you’re just starting, the free plan is an excellent way to explore Mailchimp’s capabilities.
Click Next to finalize your choice.
Step 6: Verify Your Domain
Congratulations! Your Mailchimp account is now set up. Now, the last step is to verify your domain so we can use it to send your newsletters. From the dashboard, click on your name on the top right hand corner, and then Profile. You will be met with a new menu.
Here, click Domains, then Add & Verify domain.
Make sure to input here the email you want to send your newsletters from. Input the code Mailchimp will send you to verify your domain.
